ToVisitOrNot.com is very different than the type of software that people typically use in their attempts to control website addiction. 

It does not "lock" a website from being visited.  It works on a different philosophy.  It leave the choice up to you, but poses the question, "do you really want to do this"?

There is no short supply of software that will lock out sites, but all can be circumvented.  In fact, the nature of addiction is such that people eventually will bypass a lockout.  Usually, this means a person will "temporarily" turn off the lock.  However more often that not, "temporary" becomes permanent, and the software has become useless.

ToVisitOrNot works on a psychological level.  By making it easy to continue to the site, it does not force you to choose between the addiction and the software.  Instead it works more gently by requiring you to make the choice to continue several times and giving you dissuading messages at each step. 

Additionally, if you can not be dissuaded, a timer will be added above the site (when possible) so you can see how much time has been spent on the site. By seeing how much time you have spent on the site in question, you will be motivated to leave more quickly than you would have otherwise.
